A Dehradun Destination Wedding of Sanya & Utkarsh
A wedding is a joyous celebration of the beginning of a new life together, surrounded by family and friends. Nestled in the midst of lush greenery and surrounded by breathtaking views, Hyatt Regency Dehradun provided a stunning backdrop for the Marwari wedding festivities of Sanya & Utkarsh, creating a truly unforgettable experience.
A Fun Couple Shoot
The couple expressed their preference for a more casual and spontaneous approach, and thus we decided to simply roam around the property, capturing fun and lighthearted moments of the energetic duo. Rather than overly posed shots, we aimed to capture the couple's vibrant personalities in a playful and candid manner.
A Musical Mehndi Celebration
The couple, resplendent in traditional attire, looked gorgeous as they entered the venue with a flower shower. The event was a grand affair, with family and friends gathered to celebrate the couple's love. The highlight of the evening was the performance by the popular band A26, who had everyone on their feet dancing and singing along to their catchy tunes.
DANCING THE NIGHT AWAY
The Sangeet ceremony was an absolute delight to capture. The vibrant decor, the energetic performances, and the lively music by Faridkot band made for a truly memorable evening. We were in awe of the energy and the enthusiasm with which Sanya & Utkarsh’s family and friends performed the dances. The dance floor was super packed and it was an unforgettable night.
THE REGAL WEDDING
The nuptials of Sanya and Utkarsh were a grand and exultant celebration, brimming with an abundance of joyous moments. Adorned in a beautiful red lehenga, Sanya appeared resplendent, while her choice of exquisite jewelry further elevated her aesthetic appeal. Utkarsh, too, exuded regal charm, donning an off-white sherwani . The baraat arrived in a vintage car, followed by a large procession of dancing baraatis who synchronized their steps to the beats of the dhol.
The magical sunset lent an otherworldly ambiance to the wedding ceremony, as the couple exchanged jaymalas under a shower of fragrant flowers. The traditional pheras and the application of sindoor by Utkarsh on Sanya's forehead marked the culmination of the marriage rituals, which were followed by a poignant vidai ceremony.
As photographers, we captured numerous shots that marked the beginning of Sanya and Utkarsh's journey as a married couple.
Goa Destination Wedding: A Breathtaking Affair at The Zuri White Sands, Goa
A wedding sets off two souls on an adventurous journey of lifelong companionship and love.
With destination weddings being the flavour of the season, Amogh and Aparna selected one of the most exotic locations in India to mark their wedding: Goa.
Destination Weddings in Goa can be fun filled, this one was breathtaking.
Amogh and Aparna are both doctors by profession. So when it comes to matters of the heart, they both know very well what they want, which is why they zeroed in on The Zuri White Sands, Goa Resort & Casino as the venue for their big day.
The spacious property of Zuri Goa offers a spectacular combination of excellent landscapes and a private beach. We had a fabulous time capturing priceless moments of this beautiful Tamil wedding in Goa.
Lovely Traditional Engagement Ceremony
Aparna and Amogh’s wedding celebrations began with the engagement ceremony. Amogh arrived for the ceremony in a vintage car, followed by his baraat. The baraatis had a lot of fun as they danced to the beats of dhol. They were given a grand welcome by the bride’s side.
The vibrant décor of the venue set the mood for the celebrations. Festooned in pink and yellow, the bright props and fresh flowers presented a sight to cherish.
The couple decided to wear colour-coordinated outfits for the occasion. While the groom looked handsome in his pale yellow-green attire, the bride complemented his look by wearing a saree of the same colour. She matched it with a magenta-pink blouse and stone-studded jewellery.
The couple exchanged rings, following all the traditions. After the ceremony, we took Aparna and Amogh for a couple-shoot in another part of the venue.
A Spectacular Sangeet Event
For the Sangeet, the outdoor venue was decked up with plenty of lights and props. A well-decorated stage was set up against the backdrop of the night sky.
The couple made a grand entry to the venue, with pyros lighting their way. They looked picture-perfect as they walked in hand-in-hand, sporting matching off-white outfits with intricate, colorful floral designs on them.
The Sangeet was marked by a lot of lively dance performances by the friends and family of the couple. The highlight of the evening was a special dance performance by the couple. They mesmerized everyone with their dance moves. Later, everyone joined in the revelry and had a fabulous time dancing and enjoying themselves.
We did a couple-shoot before the evening came to an end. The lighted props against the blanket of darkness proved to be an ideal background. Aparna and Amogh looked so much in love, and it was marvellously reflected in the photos as well.
A Fairy-Tale Tamil Wedding
A Tamil wedding on a beach in Goa – Aparna and Amogh’s wedding had all the elements of a fairy-tale wedding infused with traditions. The beach venue decorated with fresh flowers in pastel shades looked incredibly enchanting.
For her special day, Aparna dressed up in a bright red saree. She accessorized her look with golden ornaments. We took several bridal shots where she looked super pretty. Before she went to the mandap, she sent a beautiful letter and gift to her groom.
In keeping with the traditions, Amogh wore a white outfit with a golden border for his wedding. When he received Aparna’s letter, he read it delightedly, with much interest.
Aparna entered the venue under a phoolon ki chaadar. As she walked to the mandap, the family blew bubbles to add a magical touch to her entry. It was endearing to watch her groom wait for her eagerly at the mandap.
The couple followed all the rituals of a traditional Tamil wedding. Among the key rituals were the thali and the pheras, where they walked hand-in-hand around the holy fire. When it was time for the groom to put sindoor on his bride’s forehead, he happily did so and performed the other rituals.
Once the wedding was over, we took photos of the couple with their friends and family. The best part was when we took the couple to the beach. We shot some amazing photos of the newlywed couple against a glittering background of the sand, sun, and sea.
We will cherish the memories of this lovely couple and their Goa Destination Wedding for a long, long time.

It was endearing to watch the family and friends mark the occasion with a lot of dancing and fun. Towards the end of the celebrations, Gaurav’s family did a surprise dance performance which left everyone beaming with happy faces.
The Fun-Filled Traditional Wedding
Tanya and Gaurav’s wedding was a grand affair that involved a lot of fun-filled moments. Dressed in a yellow lehenga dappled with intricate work, she looked like a royal. Her choice of artistic jewellery further elevated her look.
Gaurav, too, looked regal in his floral-imprinted white sherwani and orange turban. We took several groom shots with the groomsmen and super pretty shots of the bride while they got ready separately for the big day.
The baraat arrived in a vintage car. It was followed by a large party of dancing baraatis who matched steps to the beats of dhol. The bride’s side welcomed the baraat in traditional style. The open-air venue enveloped by lush green mountains and dotted with floral décor and props looked stunning, to say the least.
When it was time for the rituals to begin, Gaurav walked up to the stage with his grandparents. Tanya was led in by her nephew and brothers who held the phoolon ki chaddar for her.
The wedding ceremony took place at sunset, which added a magical vibe to the ambience. The couple exchanged jaymalas under a flower shower. The Pyro waterfall further enhanced the beauty of the moment and added a fairy-tale touch to the ceremony.

“The most important part of planning a wedding is selecting a good team of photographers because you need a good eye of visual to capture the right frame and that stays with you forever! Having 1Plus1 team on board was the best decision among all the decisions. A team with so much vigour, enthusiasm and always on their feet running distances to just capture thousand of frames in a second. With them, it just felt more like a family than just having someone to be part of the wedding. We were so surprised to see the nitty gritty details in the photographs that we couldn’t even notice them during the wedding. The communication was as smooth as it can get because the vibe they give is so just liberating!
Just a few words for Manvi, she’s a powerhouse! I mean her blood is filled with infinite energy and having her around is amazing. Her team shares the same vigour as her and unlimited talent house. Highly recommended! Hands down! 🌻”

Decorated with props, fresh flowers, and furnishings in various colours, the venue exuded the vibes of a colourful carnival.
The Mehndi ceremony started with both sides greeting each other and dancing to the beats of the dhol. After the Mehndi ceremony, the couple exchanged rings. We got busy clicking the happy faces as everyone got into a celebratory mood.
The bride’s side did a flash mob to mark the occasion and express their delight. In response, the groom’s family broke into an impromptu dance.
To add to the fun, Pranav’s friends threw him into the pool! We took several stunning shots of the couple amidst the colourful settings before the gala party came to an end.
The Vivacious Sangeet Event
The Sangeet was a high-energy event celebrated at an indoor venue at the Leela Palace, Bangalore.
Devyani looked resplendent as she arrived for the event dressed in a gorgeous white outfit. Beside her, Pranav looked stunning in his black tuxedo. We found the perfect moment to take some amazing couple shots before the Sangeet event started.
It was endearing to witness everyone taking part in the Sangeet. The bride became emotional after hearing the speeches given by her loved ones.
While there were several performances by the family and friends of the couple, the father-daughter dance was a special one. The groom showed off his dancing skills by joining his bride on the stage. His friends also joined him, and they had a great time dancing and enjoying themselves.
The Enchanting Wedding
Devyani and Pranav’s wedding was a grand affair. The bride looked regal in her pink and brown lehenga and dazzling stone jewellery. Her open hair added a modern touch to her classy outfit. The groom looked picture perfect in his ivory sherwani, ruby necklace, matching stole, and turban.
The décor of the wedding venue had a royal touch to it. The groom arrived in a vintage car for his wedding. The baraatis danced with vigour and popped champagne to celebrate the occasion.
Once the groom reached the venue, his friends lifted and carried him to the bride’s side for the welcome rituals. Devyani was led to the mandap under an ornate umbrella held by her brother. Her brother became very emotional while walking his sister to the mandap.
The wedding rituals included exchanging jaymalas, taking pheras around the holy fire, and putting sindoor on the bride’s forehead. When it was time for Vidai, the bride’s family turned emotional. Several family members broke into tears on seeing the bride take Vidai after her wedding.
We did a photoshoot of the newlyweds against the ornate backdrop of the ornate Leela Palace. Devyani and Pranav looked every bit like a royal couple.
The wedding was followed by a just-married reception. The couple marked the occasion by cutting a cake and took to the dance floor for their first dance as a wedded couple. There was a lot of dancing by other family members before the fun evening came to an end.
For this occasion, the groom had changed into a black sherwani while the bride remained in her wedding finery. Our cameras captured them in their newly wedded avatar. The glow of happiness on their faces mirrored well in the photos too.
We had a great time shooting for this fun-filled Punjabi wedding.

Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore: An Elegant Christian Wedding
Distance can’t keep hearts apart, and that is what Shincy and Joseph proved through their enchanting wedding at Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore. This Christian wedding marked the union of a couple who had met only once in person before their wedding. And that was when Joseph proposed to Shincy and she replied with a yes.
The bride is from Philadelphia, and the groom is from London. Since they got to know each other during the pandemic, the lockdown and travel restrictions played spoilsport in their plans to meet in person. They selected Bangalore for the wedding as the groom’s family is based out of this city.
Mela: Bonding Between Families
Shincy and Joseph’s wedding celebrations began with a fun event called Mela. It was a special event designed for the two families to interact and gel up. Organized on the terrace of the Leela Palace in Bangalore, the event had a mesmerising purple and yellow-themed décor.
The bride wore a beautiful lehenga in pastel shades. The groom looked dapper in his pastel kurta and a matching sleeveless jacket. Both families had a great time bonding over a lot of exciting activities and games. The family tambola session was the concluding event of the evening that ended on a high note with a lot of singing and conversations.
The gorgeous setting created the perfect background for some stunning pictures of the couple as well as the family members. We made the most of this opportunity and captured the mood of the evening in our cameras.
An Enchanting Church Wedding
On the wedding day, Shincy got ready at Ritz Carlton. It was a lovely affair to watch the bride transform into a mesmerizing diva in her wedding gown. We couldn’t help capturing all those moments for her. On her part, the bride, too, had a great time shooting with her bride’s maids. She was thrilled to receive recorded video messages from many of her friends in the US who couldn’t make it to the wedding.
For the wedding, Shincy adorned a gorgeous white flowing gown with sleek jewelry. The bouquet of pastel roses in her hands complemented her look perfectly. It was an emotional moment for Shincy when she got a beautiful letter from Joseph. While reading it out loud, her eyes became misty.
To add a fun vibe to the shooting, we asked her to get into the bathtub in her wedding finery. The bride went along with our plan, and we got to shoot some amazing pictures of her sitting in the bathtub. We also shot her pictures with her family members and some magical solo shots in black and white. While gliding down the floral-decked stairway of the Ritz Carlton, the bride looked no less than an elegant princess in white, and we didn’t miss seizing the moments.
While all these were happening at Ritz Carlton, the groom was getting ready at his home. He looked elegant in his black tuxedo. When he received Shincy’s letter, even he became emotional.
The wedding was set to take place at The Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Ashok Nagar. Joseph set his eyes on Shincy dressed as a bride for the first time and was floored. It was a magical moment when the bride walked down the stairs for her Church wedding, and her parents brought her to Joseph. As they gave her hand to him, he beamed brightly.
They entered the church together. The wedding rituals were completed in the presence of family and friends. The couple exchanged rings, and the groom tied the mangalsutra on the bride’s neck as part of the wedding rituals. When they stepped out of the church, their family welcomed the newlyweds with bubbles.
A Glamorous Wedding Reception
Shincy and Joseph’s Christian wedding reception was held at Ritz Carlton. The event started with the bridal march. Everyone was full of energy and entered the venue, dancing spiritedly. The lighting of lamps marked the beginning of the celebrations, followed by the speeches. From the bride’s side, Shincy’s sister gave an emotional speech. Joseph’s brother made everyone reel in laughter with his funny toast.
Shincy shimmered in her pink and golden saree. She hit the dance floor with Joseph for the first dance of the bride and groom. As the evening progressed, more dances followed between father-daughter and son-mom. Family and friends too joined in the dancing and fun before everyone called it a night.
On our part, we got busy shooting all the delightful moments for Shincy and Joseph to look back on as part of their wedding memories.

The Leela Kovalam, a Raviz Hotel, Kerala: An Indo-American Destination Wedding
When cupid strikes, nothing else matters.
This is what happened when Subina and Jeff lost their heart to each other. Subina is a Malayali from India while Jeff is an American. Yet, the difference between the two countries and cultures was not enough to keep them apart. And when they decided to spend their life together, they went for a wedding that was brimming with love, laughter, lights, and plenty of candid shots!

& our Destination Wedding Locations in India Guide.
The Picturesque Venue
To celebrate their cross-cultural wedding, Subina and Jeff selected a venue that was as contemporary as their love: the scenic CHESS PARK, The Leela Kovalam, a Raviz Hotel in Kerala. Nestled on a pristine beach and delimited by scintillating views, the sprawling property offered such a fusion of sights, sounds, and serenity that it turned into the perfect backdrop for a couple-shoot even before the wedding events started.
The lovebirds looked elegant in black and white combination as they stood taking in the breath-taking views and talked endlessly. We were delighted to capture the moments from near and afar as they strolled hand in hand and stole kisses before the grand ceremony.
A Carnival of Colors and Fun
The destination wedding kicked off with a vibrant Mehendi ceremony organized by the beach. The beachside location came alive with fun, laughter, and music that continued long after the sun had bid adieu to the day. It was endearing to see the bride and the groom mingle with everyone and share their happiness even as they snatched moments for themselves.
With everyone joining in the ceremonies and getting mehendi designs done on their hands, it was a sight to behold. Needless to say, we got shutter-happy and captured the moments that made the day an affair to remember.
The Gorgeous Wedding
The wedding ceremony took place on a canvas of greenery on the lawns of Leela Kovalam. With the Bay of Bengal serving as the perfect backdrop, the wedding mandap or stage was decorated in a spectacular shade of orange and bunches of fresh flowers. The bright floral décor of marigolds on the path leading to the stage further enhanced the beauty of the place.
It was a traditional marriage ceremony laced with contemporary elements. Subina and Jeff woke up to a bright sunny day. The bride was a bundle of energy and anticipation as her bridesmaids helped her to get ready. The groom was equally charged up for the big day.
In her white and golden ensemble and stunning golden ornaments, the bride looked no less than a dream. A garland of flowers adorned her hairdo. But it was the groom who stole the show with his Indian attire. Wearing a golden kurta and a dhoti (Veshti) in white and golden, he looked every bit Indian. To complete the look, he carried the angavastram or shoulder cloth, as is the custom. He even helped his infant nephew to wear a dhoti.
We couldn’t help but freeze the moment in our camera when the color-coordinated couple stood together before stepping out for the ceremony.
The groom made a grand entry in a decorated auto along with his nephew. His baarat danced to the beat of the music and beamed in delight. During her turn, the bride made her entry in the typical Malayali style. As per the tradition, her cousins and friends held lamps and escorted her to the stage. What followed was a short yet beautiful ceremony. As both sides looked on, the couple exchanged floral garlands and completed other traditional rituals to solemnize their wedding. Once the ceremony was over, friends and family members wished the couple.
Witnessing a wedding that marked the merger of two cultures was an experience in itself. But the real fun was clicking plenty of traditional and candid shots and capturing the joyous moments for eternity.
Celebrations of a Life Together
The final part of this wedding story was the reception held after sundown. For the reception, the bride chose a splendid lehenga choli in red and green while the groom looked impressive in his blue suit.
Held under the open sky and in the company of sparkling lights, it was a gorgeous ambiance. But nothing could beat the dazzling smiles of the couple. As the evening progressed, dance, music, and merriment ensued. When the bride and the groom did a beautiful first under the stary sky, we made sure that those moments got captured from every angle. Finally, everyone let their hair down and had a gala time.
Meanwhile, we made sure that every bit of the rituals, celebrations, fun, and frolic was captured. Because we know, every picture tells a story!

The charming bride managed to draw all eyes towards her. Her gorgeous yellow and pink outfit and flower jewellery made her look no less than a princess. The groom looked equally striking in his earthy pink and white attire.
The fun event included a lot of dancing and drinking. Even though the bride’s hands were covered in Mehndi, she was full of enthusiasm and posed for quite a few stunning shots.
The family members shared the excitement of the couple with equal gusto. We captured some candid shots of the couple while they shared some moments just with each other, away from everyone else.
The Lively Sangeet Ceremony
The Sangeet was all about fun dances by the couple as well as their loved ones. For this event, the bride adorned a stylish layered grey gown with intricate silver work that enhanced her beauty.
She accessorized the gown with sleek jewellery and kept her hair loose for maximum impact. To complement the look of his bride, the groom went in favour of a black tuxedo suit. As the stunning couple stood side by side, they made a picture-perfect pair.
The highlight of the evening was the ring exchange ceremony. When the groom kneeled on one knee to slip the ring on his would-be bride’s finger, she blushed with happiness. We captured this perfect moment for the couple, along with several other moments from the night.
As the night progressed, everyone took to the dance floor. The couple also showed off their dance moves along with the others. We had a lot of fun capturing the happy faces of everyone as they got into the celebratory mood and turned the Sangeet ceremony into a memorable night.
The Mesmerising Wedding Ceremony

The groom dressed in off-white for the big day of his life. He sported a bejewelled and turbaned look, which made him look all the more handsome.
The baaratis started for the wedding venue with a lot of dancing to the beats of energizing music. They boarded a cruise to sail to the wedding venue in style. The fun and dancing continued on the cruise as well.
On her part, the bride dressed up in a pink lehenga for the wedding. She completed the look by wearing stone-studded jewellery. When it was time for her to reach the mandap, she walked under a phoolon ki chaadar held by her brothers.
As part of the wedding ceremony, the couple exchanged garlands and took pheras around the fire. In keeping with the traditions, the groom put sindoor or vermillion on his bride’s forehead.
We were delighted to shoot this lovely destination wedding. The fun, frolic, and fabulous décor provided us with ample scope to capture the vibe. But what we loved shooting most was the young couple in love. The glow on their faces was a testimony of their happiness, and we made sure to take various candid shots of the couple to treasure that look forever.
Mundota Fort and Palace, Jaipur: A Marwari Destination Wedding
There's something magical about destination weddings. Tying the knot in a faraway place amidst your loved ones is something everyone cherishes for a lifetime.
While there are many beautiful locations to select from for a destination wedding, Pranav and Vrinda chose Mundota Fort and Palace, Jaipur for saying 'I do,' and together, everyone enjoyed the one-of-a-kind experience. The wedding was planned beautifully by Ankush Dhelia from purple people. The architecturally rich city of Jaipur - one of the top wedding destinations in India - offered Pranav and Vrinda, their families, and friends a pleasant and unforgettable wedding celebration.
After jet-setting to Jaipur, the first thing the couple did was get ready for the bridal photoshoots. Clad in a white dress, Vrinda looked like an angel. We captured the fun, excitement, and merriment in all its essence. The Mundota Fort and Jaipur's picturesque locations allowed the us to click so many candid shots of the couple.
Click here for our Destination Wedding Locations in India Guide. Click here for our Marwari Wedding Guide.
The photoshoot started in the sunny evening until the beautiful twilight set in the background. The beautiful couple shoot with the stunning backdrops of the fort and palace turned out to be a major highlight of the evening.
The Mehndi
Pranav and Vrinda had opted for a carnival-themed Mehndi, and they had it fully loaded with fun activities. Decorated in bright pinks and yellows, the lac bangle making, Tarot card reading, and local performances added more colour to the events.
Marwari weddings are famous for their vibrant colours, rich heritage, and cultural traditions. At the Mehndi, the bride surprised the groom by breaking into a sudden dance with her bridesmaids. Later, the bride's sister and cousins performed a scintillating dance performance.
A show game was planned for the couple, and it was absolutely fun not only for Pranav and Vrinda but for everyone at the event. The Mehndi celebrations concluded with a Dandiya Raas, which seemed like a fitting gift for the Gujarati bridegroom, Pranav.
The Sangeet
Vrinda and Pranav's sangeet function was held at ITC Rajputana. The families welcomed the groom and bride with garlands and sweets. The couple exchanged rings amid the lovely backdrop of the venue. The traditional havelis of Jaipur inspired the hotel's architecture. The long corridors, courtyards, and fountains added to the romance and majesty.
Family members and cousins had a gala time entertaining the couple with their performance. The couple exchanged rings and did not shy away from showcasing their grooving skills either and danced to a super fun song.
The Haldi
The Haldi is one of the essential pre-wedding functions in which turmeric, sandal paste, and oil are applied to the bride and groom by the members of the family. It is considered that the mixture will bless the couple, and by applying Haldi, the bride and groom are beckoning peace and prosperity.
The mandap was elegantly decorated for the Haldi and had lotus-shaped seats. With marigolds and lilies covering the area, it was an awe-inspiring sight.
Draped in an off-white saree, Vrinda looked gorgeous as bridesmaids showered flowers on her after applying the Haldi. Wearing a yellow kurta and white pyjama, Pranav joined the celebrations as elders smeared his face with the Haldi paste.
The Wedding
Weddings have their charm, and Vrinda and Pranav's wedding was no exception. It was vibrant, intricately planned, and full of celebration and tradition.
The wedding venue was the famous Mundota Fort. The 14th-century fort is amidst the Aravalli mountain range on a granite hill. The breathtaking venue is spread over 10 acres and has courtyards, terraces, charming pavilions, and gardens.
Overlooking the village, several species of birds and dancing peacocks visit the Mundota Fort. No wonder people flock to the fort in Jaipur for weddings and travel, as it offers all the modern convenience in an intimate setting.
There can never be a dull moment in a Marwari wedding. A series of rituals were held right before the groom proceeded to the wedding venue. For the baarat, Pranav was seated on a gracefully decorated elephant. They reached the venue with the family in a procession, singing and dancing.
As Pranav arrived, the bride's family welcomed him and the procession with sweets and aarti. Vrinda's mom did not forget to play the Ponkhnu, a fun tradition to welcome the groom to the wedding mandap. She performed the aarti, fed him sweets, and blessed him. She also pulled Pranav's nose in jest, a cute and playful tradition in Marwari weddings.
Pranav was wearing an embroidered kurta and dupatta with a hue of red as the border. He also wore a vibrant pagdi and multi-layered stone chain. With many rituals and mini-functions leading to the Big Day, it was time for the bride to enter.
Vrinda, resplendent in a red lehenga, entered under the chaadar with her friends and family welcoming her. With a bright and beautiful red lehenga, intricate henna designs, traditional jewellery, and the nath, Vrinda looked like a million dollars.
When the bride and the groom arrived at the wedding mandap, it was time for the Jaimala ritual. The couple exchanged floral garlands with each other right in front of the famous palace amidst pyros and rose petal showers.
Marwari weddings are all about delicious food, vibrant outfits, and grandeur. A perfect blend of custom beliefs and fun-filled activities, Pranav and Vrinda's wedding, too, was a palette of colours.
With many rites, rituals, and fun, Pranav and Vrinda became Husband and Wife on the full moon night, with the Mundota Fort setting the perfect backdrop. Amid the fun and frolic, we clicked enough photographs with the Mundota Fort standing tall as the milieu.

Madhvi and Adithya wanted a large, lush green venue for the wedding. They selected Moongate Bangalore for its open space, lovely views, serene ambience, abundance of sunshine and cool breeze. The venue offered a lovely combination of indoor and outdoor settings that provided us with several spots to capture fine shots of the couple and their Tamil wedding rituals.
The Colourful Mehndi Carnival
A colourful Mehni Carnival marked the beginning of Madhvi and Adithya’s wedding story. This event was held in the gazebo situated on the lush green lawn. It offered a breath-taking view of the lake, which served as a lovely backdrop for the event.
The upbeat mood of the ceremony was enhanced by the amazing décor of the venue. Adorned with fresh flowers, decorated umbrellas, and other colorful tasselled props, the whole setting looked nothing short of magical. A fresh flower décor setting put up against the backdrop of the lake served as an ideal spot to shoot some incredible photos.
The Mehndi event began with the beat on the dhol. Dressed in colourful Garba outfits, members of both families took up Garba sticks to dance to their heart’s content.
Madhvi and Adithya coordinated their looks and sported white outfits enriched with pastel floral designs. The young couple joined in the fun and gladly showed off their dancing skills. They swirled, twirled, and shared their joy with everyone around them.
Adithya even played the dhol while his lovely bride looked on with awe. Another highlight was the tug of war between the family members, where everyone joined in the fun. To add to the fun, we made Adithya play the guitar and encouraged the couple to sing their favourite Tamil songs, which they did happily.
It was a delight to witness everyone participating in the Mehndi carnival with such enthusiasm. We captured the whole vibe of the event through a series of photos. We were particularly happy to do a beautiful couple shoot against the lake backdrop. Madhvi and Adithya looked absolutely stunning.
The Spectacular Iyengar Wedding
For the wedding ceremony, the outdoor venue was decked up in colourful hues rendered by fresh flowers. The day started with the bride and the groom getting ready for the traditional Iyengar wedding rituals.
Madhvi was unsure about putting the kondai on her hair. Kondai is a unique hairdo wherein traditional Iyengar brides sport a bun on a single side of the head. It was a heart-touching moment to witness the grandmom convince the young bride to wear the kondai. She finally relented and wore it with a smile on her face.
The groom dressed in a white silk dhoti with red and blue borders. The bride looked ravishing in her traditional finery. Decked up in an ochre saree and adorned with golden jewellery pieces, she looked like a happy princess. We loved capturing the bride in various moods as she got ready for one of the biggest events of her life.
The main wedding ceremony started with the groom being stopped from going to Kashi as per the tradition. He was convinced to marry Madhvi instead. This ritual was followed by the garlanding ceremony. The bride and the groom exchanged garlands while both families lifted them - resulting in a lot of fun and beaming faces.
The couple simply looked picture-perfect sitting on a beautifully decorated swing or oonjal for their Oonjal ceremony. It was a sight to watch them gently rocking on the swing while the women performed the Oonjal rituals.
Next, it was time for the bride to change her outfit for the main wedding rituals. She wore a fabulous nine-yards long red saree with intricate golden patterns that enhanced her beauty by quite a few notches.
The pretty bride sat on her father’s lap, keeping with the traditions. The groom tied Mangalsutra on his bride’s neck. It was a lovely moment for all to witness. The couple completed all the other rituals of the wedding with smiles on their faces.
Right after the wedding, we did a photoshoot with the newlywed couple. They looked relaxed and besotted in love, and we promptly captured them in our lens.
The Scintillating Reception
Lights, colours, props, and flowers served as the décor theme of the reception venue. The groom donned a black suit and tie over a white shirt. Beside him, his bride dazzled in a deep green saree matched with a sleeveless blouse and stone-studded golden jewellery.
The couple cut their wedding cake standing against the backdrop of the macabre setting near the lake. With fireworks surrounding them, it seemed like a surreal moment. We loved the cute props of a Tamil couple on the cake that looked like miniature versions of Madhvi and Adithya.
This was followed by the couple and other family members lighting sky lamps and releasing them into the air. The sky lamps looked magical as they floated in the blanket of darkness above the lake.
As the evening proceeded, the couple took to the ground and shared their first dance as a wedded pair.
We loved shooting every moment of this wedding. It was all colours, fun, and frolic. We tried to capture the vibrant mood of the wedding in our photos so that the couple can sit back and relive these moments whenever they feel like doing so in the future.

A Gorgeous Haldi Ceremony Set Around the Theme of Water
Aastha and Shikhar’s wedding story began with a sparkling, fun-filled Haldi event. It was a bright and beautiful Haldi ceremony organized at the Leela Bhartiya City. The splendid venue, the water theme, and the picturesque décor all came together to accentuate the event’s mood.
When the couple entered the venue dancing to the beats of dhols and smoke bombs, it was clear that they meant to enjoy every moment of their wedding saga. And they sure did have loads of fun at their Haldi ceremony! Right from playing the shoe game to dancing to the tunes of peppy numbers, every moment was marked by happiness and laughter. Surprise dance performances further added to the upbeat mood.
The couple opted for fresh flowers and turmeric for their Haldi. The riot of colours made for some very gorgeous and super fun photos. With plenty of fun games and activities, it was easy breaking the ice between the families and making them join in the fun.
We captured the couple and the happy vibes of the event against the gorgeous setting, and the photos came out incredible.
Scintillating Sangeet Ceremony Based on the Theme of Air
The Sangeet was a special event in Aastha and Shikhar’s wedding saga. Once again, the venue was Leela Bhartiya City. The theme for the evening was air or space.
Aastha made sure she captured everyone’s attention when she entered the venue with shiny robots. Shikhar was not to be left behind either – he made a grand entry from the backstage, dancing to a popular Bollywood number – Badtameez Dil. Our pre-wedding shoot for the couple set the fun mood for the night.
Spectacular performances marked the evening. Since the performances were based on the decades starting from 1950 to 2022, they captured everyone’s hearts alike, whether young or old. The mesmerizing solo performance of the bride and the groom was the highlight of the evening.
Shikhar displayed his superb dancing skills as he performed songs by legends like Michael Jackson and Prabhudeva. Everyone, including us, was mighty impressed with his moves. No wonder we couldn’t help capturing loads of his moves on our cameras.
If the couple dance was special, the brother-sister dance by Shikhar and his sister Shruti (which they learnt at a camp 17 years ago) showed how good they both were at making great moves on the dance floor!
As the evening progressed, friends and cousins took over the dance floor and added to the frenzy of the event.
An Enchanting Wedding Highlighted by the Fire Theme
The wedding day dawned with a lot of happiness and expectations for the lovely couple.
For their dream wedding, Aastha and Shikhar selected Amita Rasa as the venue. Set in the lap of nature and away from the rush of the city, the venue was perfect to start their journey into a new life together in the presence of their loved ones. Surrounded by Nandi Hills and covered by clouds, the open-air venue offered an ideal backdrop for some gorgeous photos of the bride and the groom.
We started capturing the bride and the groom in various moods even as they got ready for the grand event. Shikhar’s baraat was led by a vintage car that served as the groom's chariot. The baraat party and the groom had a lot of fun as they danced their way to the ceremony. After the toran, Shikar made a unique entry to the venue.
Aastha looked every bit an ethereal princess in her wedding finery. She entered the venue under a colourful phoolon ki chaadar held by her brothers.
The bride and the groom exchanged their wedding vows in a sweet, romantic way. They exchanged garlands against the backdrop of the Nandi Hills. We captured each of these moments with enthusiasm and awe.
After the garlanding ceremony, the couple stepped into the beautifully decorated mandap to complete other wedding rituals. They took their pheras around the sacred fire. Finally, the groom put sindoor (vermillion) on the bride's forehead.
Once the wedding rituals were over, we whisked the couple away for a romantic newlywed photo shoot with the mountains serving as a natural background. It was great to capture the ravishing bride and her handsome groom looking so much in love.
Just Married Dinner Marked by the Earth Theme
The newlywed couple celebrated their marriage with a grand dinner. It was organized at the Leela Bhartiya City.
The dinner was attended by the couple's loved ones, who came together to cheer for them and wish them a happy married life ahead. The bride and the groom looked elegant in their post-wedding dinner outfits.
As they relaxed in the company of their friends and family, we took the opportunity to capture them in vibrant moods all evening long. It's always fun to capture young people in love. Capturing Aastha and Shikhar starting their married life was a wonderful experience for us.
Amita Rasa, Bangalore: An Exquisite Wedding Among the Hills
When Cupid pulls the strings, everything falls into place—and that's exactly what happened with Akshaan and Sanithra. Their wedding was a blend of Punjabi, Malayalam, and Telugu rituals to celebrate their roots. The wedding extravaganza took place over three days.
This lovely couple decided to take their vows at Amita Rasa, a breath-taking venue nestled in the lap of nature. Tucked in a valley on the slopes of the Nandi Hills, the picturesque venue matched the unbridled enthusiasm of the couple on their special day.
But what caught our attention was the open setting of the venue, encircled by green hills. Add to that a spectacular floral décor that matched the scenery as well as the outfits of the couple, and we were thrilled to capture this riot of colours and beauty with our camera!

The Wedding: A Celebration of Rituals and Traditions
On their big day, Akshaan and Sanithra looked picture-perfect in their wedding attires.
Dressed in a gorgeous golden traditional saree and an intricately designed matching blouse, the bride looked ethereal. A pastel pink chunni and gold ornaments served as the perfect finishing touches for her bridal look. We were elated to capture her in different stages as she got ready for her special day. On his part, the groom complemented her by donning an off-white and golden mundu set. The groom's father helped him in getting ready for the wedding.
The groom arrived in an open car and the baraat was a fun-filled affair. He was dancing to the beats of the dhol that accompanied his marriage party. Giving him company were his family and friends, who joined in the revelry with equal enthusiasm. It was a sight to behold, with the groom's friends wearing mundu sets and dancing to the dhol beats. The highlight of the baraat was the groom's enthusiastic grandmother dancing and enjoying herself.
As is the tradition in South India, the groom made his entry to the venue accompanied by the boisterous and lilting sounds of the chenda and nadaswaram. The beaming bride entered with her friends holding the thalapoli.
The main wedding venue was decked up with floral garlands that hung down from the ceiling. The sindoor daan and the tying of the Mangalsutra were among the major rituals that marked the wedding. Surrounded by friends and family, the couple took their vows. When it was time for the talambralu ritual, everyone had great fun—It involved the couple throwing rice at each other. After the wedding was over, the couple's friends showered them in flowers to mark the happy moment.
In the midst of everything, we made sure that all these precious moments were captured on our camera. We engaged the couple for a quick couple shoot. Making ample use of the beautiful venue and the amazing décor elements, we came up with some stunning shots.
The Sangeet: An Extravaganza of Fun and Dancing
For their Sangeet, the couple decided on Radisson Blu, Atria as the venue. The bride decked up in a fiery red outfit and dazzled with a bright smile. The groom looked stylish in his resplendent peacock green outfit.
Joined by family and friends for the event, they had a lot of fun. Several dance performances marked the evening. The couple joined in the revelry with full enthusiasm. As everyone partied the night away, we were delighted to make the most of the event with a mix of colourful and monochrome shots.
The Friends Party: A Special Event
The Destiny Farms in Ooty played the host for this special event. This hilly venue was perfect for aerial or drone photography. The beautiful sunset added to the mesmerising vibe of the place. We didn't miss the chance to do a couple shoot before the event, with the sunset serving as a spellbinding background.
Since it was a black-tie event, all the friends were dressed in black. They performed a special skit for the couple. A lot of dancing followed, along with karaoke. The atmosphere came alive with the ensuing fun and craziness. It was an exciting experience for us to capture all the special moments at this unique event. We wrapped up the shoot for this wedding after having captured countless memories for the couple to cherish forever.

Rina's Venue, Chennai: An Intimate Tamil Wedding
On a day with the most perfect weather for an outdoor wedding, we entered an amazingly serene escape inside the city of Chennai to shoot a lovely wedding. The wedding venue was a quaint location, a vintage style south-Indian bungalow known as Rina’s Venue, complete with a court-yard surrounded by the trademark wooden-pillars and ornately engraved antique archways. This venue is in Sholinganallur off ECR Road.
The warm glow from the sacred fire set in the centre of the courtyard coupled with the vivid yellow from the garlands of Marigold, added such a charm to the festivities of Shruthi & Chandru’s traditional Tamil wedding . Shruthi was draped in a sari which was resplendent green, completely in contrast to the dark red ochre of the henna on her hands. Chandru was in a white dhoti and ivory turban as is completely customary.
What was memorable from this day was the endearing smile on the his face as the clock ticked closer to the moment he would set his eyes on Shruthi and the striking smiles of both the bride and the groom while they went through every ritual while the relatives and friends showered their blessings.
The walls adorned with intricate wood work with mirrors and Raja Ravi Varma’s beautiful oil paintings screamed elegance and made for such stunning background for all the pictures.
This wedding was every bit as simple, traditional and beautiful as it sounds. We have had our fair share of shooting weddings set in palaces and other exotic locations but the charm of rustic venues never ceases to amaze us, for, there is a special kind of joy in simplicity.
A Traditional Tambrahm Wedding, Bangalore
Sunitha and Sripath's Tamil Brahmin wedding at Tamarind Tree, Bangalore was an intimate affair, which was fun and informal and yet included all traditional ceremonies.
Tamarind Tree, Bangalore, with its huge trees and stone steps, provided the ideal traditional venue for the ceremony offering a rich visual treat to us as photographers. The décor was also traditional Indian, with a touch of the western aesthetic; the mandap, entryway with the name board, and the seating area were all done up with flower garlands in reds, yellows, and oranges. Brass vessels filled with flowers adorned the stone steps, while marigolds strung in jasmine hung from the tree branches, adding dashes of colour to the monsoon wedding.

Dressed in kanjeevaram with jasmine on her hair, Sunitha had minimal jewellery on and looked every bit an elegant South Indian bride as she stepped into the venue amidst a mild drizzle. The red of the flowers and the lush greenery in the backdrop seemed to complement the bride's attire. Sripath made his entry in a traditional dhoti tied around his waist, amidst a flurry of guests in multi-coloured kanjeevarams, typical to a Tam Brahm wedding.
Tamil Brahmin weddings have a series of unique and fun rituals, many of which lighten the air and help bring the two families together. One of such is the Kasi Yatra, where the groom leaves the worldly life and take off to Kasi just before entering the mandap. Wearing a pair of traditional slippers and holding a stick, he walks out, and then coaxed by relatives, he returns, and the ceremonies resume. When Sripath started for Kasi Yatra, Sunitha's father and family convinced him not to go for sanyas and offered his daughter in marriage.
Following the Kasi Yatra, Sunitha and Sripath exchanged garlands, lifted up by their relatives amidst nadaswaram music and cheering. The bride and groom then sat on the beautifully decorated Oonjal or swing, where they were blessed by elders and given sweetened drinks and bananas.
The Oonjal is an indispensable part of Tam Brahm wedding, symbolising the togetherness and the life ahead. As the swing goes up and down, it indicates the ups and downs in human life and how together a couple can tide over any situation. As elders sing Oonjal songs, they also perform drishti to ward off evil eyes that had fallen on the couple, if any.
The father of the bride washed the groom's feet. The bride's mother applied kajal in the groom's eyes as part of the ritual. The thali or mangalsutra is tied around the bride's neck by the groom as she sits on her father's lap.
Then Sunitha's dad held her hand and offered it to Sripath. Known as Kanyadaanam, the ceremony is meant to denote that the father is handing over his daughter to the groom to be taken care of well. In the olden days, the brides used to be very young and would fit easily into their father's laps, which was probably the origin of the ceremony, but it is continued today, giving way to a lot of mirth and fun.
Sunitha changed into a gorgeous traditional nine-yard sari for the thali ceremony held at the mandap, which was indeed beautiful to watch, providing us with a multitude of click-worthy moments. The rituals concluded with the couple performing homam together.
Now that the most important ritual was over, the mood lightened, and a series of fun rituals followed. The bride and groom were made to sit on chairs facing away from each other as the guests clapped and cheered. A cake-cutting ceremony for a tiny birthday guest was also part of the agenda of the day. The entire ceremony was informal and intimate, with close family and friends in attendance, adding charm.
We finished with a couple-photoshoot of the bride and the groom, amidst love and laughter and countless memories to cherish.
