He was a Bengali boy. What began as an ordinary college friendship slowly grew into a relationship that would carry them through different cities, careers, milestones and every version of adulthood.

When it came time to get married, choosing Jaipur wasn't about finding a destination. It was about returning to the city that had quietly witnessed the beginning of everything. After exploring several venues, Mundota Fort & Palace felt like the natural choice. Its historic architecture, sprawling courtyards and timeless character reflected exactly what they wanted their wedding to feel like—not driven by trends, but by memories, family and a sense of belonging.

The celebrations unfolded over three days, with every event carrying its own personality while remaining deeply connected to the couple's story. The welcome evening was warm and emotional, filled with speeches that revisited fourteen years of memories and friendships. The Haldi embraced Jaipur's winter sunshine with an intimate poolside celebration, while the Sangeet brought an entirely different energy through vintage-inspired décor, live performances and a dance floor that stayed full long after the formal performances had ended.

The wedding day itself transformed Mundota Fort into something almost dreamlike. Beneath cascading white floral chandeliers, the centuries-old sandstone architecture became the perfect canvas for a ceremony that was deeply personal rather than extravagant. Every decision reflected the couple's values. They chose a female pundit to officiate the ceremony, a meaningful decision that felt both progressive and deeply respectful of tradition. Live sitar music accompanied the pheras, creating an atmosphere that felt intimate despite the grandeur of the setting. Anupama walked beneath a handprinted chadar carrying the blessings of her family, while Bengali and Marwari customs unfolded seamlessly throughout the ceremony. Rather than presenting two cultures separately, the wedding allowed them to exist naturally alongside one another.

That thoughtful approach extended into every detail. Invitations featured both Bengali and Hindi scripts, the menus celebrated Rajasthani flavours alongside Bengali sweets, and the entertainment moved effortlessly between folk performances and classical music. Even Anupama's bridal styling reflected both sides of their story. Her Banarasi-inspired bridal ensemble paid tribute to Abhinav's Bengali heritage, while her jewellery and wedding bangles beautifully blended Bengali shaka-pola with the traditional Marwari chooda. None of these details felt decorative for the sake of aesthetics. They were deeply personal choices that reflected the lives they had already built together.

It was about preserving a story that had taken fourteen years to reach this moment.
