Tejeshwari and Shivam’s wedding was a celebration rooted in heritage, personal storytelling, and thoughtful design. Every event carried its own visual language, blending traditional rituals with contemporary aesthetics, couture fashion, and soulful moments that felt deeply lived in.
From heirloom sarees and art inspired decor to intimate backyard celebrations and candle lit evenings, their wedding reflected how modern Indian couples are choosing meaning over spectacle and intention over excess.
Traditional Home Rituals Rooted in Culture
The celebrations began with intimate home ceremonies, including the Sumangli Pooja. Tejeshwari wore a restored nine yard Navari saree that once belonged to her grandmother, carefully revived and reworked to honour her Maratha roots. This deeply personal beginning set an emotional and culturally grounded tone for the days ahead.
Backyard Mehendi with a Garden Inspired Aesthetic
The mehendi unfolded in Tejeshwari’s own backyard, styled to feel like sitting under a garden tree. Earthy tones, relaxed conversations, and a sense of ease defined the day. She chose Papa Don’t Preach for the mehendi, keeping the vibe playful and youthful, perfectly suited to the informal, intimate setting.
A South Indian Courtyard Haldi Full of Colour
The haldi was designed like a vibrant South Indian courtyard and quickly turned into one of the most joyful celebrations of the weekend. Rooted in Maharashtrian tradition, everyone present joined in, family and friends alike, taking turns to apply haldi to Tejeshwari and Shivam. It was playful, loud, and full of laughter, exactly the way a haldi should be.
What started as a ceremony soon became a celebration, with friends cheering, teasing, and making sure no one was spared. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and full of energy, creating moments that felt spontaneous and deeply heartfelt.
Tejeshwari wore a South Indian half saree by Kavitha Gutta, personally styled by the designer herself, a look that blended tradition with ease and perfectly matched the joyful spirit of the morning.
A Leopard Themed Sangeet with Couture Fashion
The sangeet marked a dramatic shift in mood and energy. Styled as a bold cocktail night with a leopard theme and a striking red and black palette, the evening felt unapologetically glamorous. Tejeshwari wore Tarun Tahiliani couture, choosing a white corseted look that felt powerful, refined, and fashion forward.
Shivam complemented the evening with a sharply tailored cocktail look, styled by Tejeshwari herself, bringing a sleek, modern edge that matched the glamour of the night.
The celebration unfolded with heartfelt toasts, lively performances by friends and family, and a packed dance floor that stayed alive through the night. A sprawling grazing table became a centrepiece, paired with exquisite catering by Foodling, keeping guests indulged throughout the evening. DJ Jasmeet set the tone with music that kept the energy high and the floor full.
One of the most memorable moments of the night was a surprise video message from Conan O Brien, who shared a few warm and humorous words for the couple. It was unexpected, personal, and added a global, joyful touch to an already unforgettable evening.
A Candle Lit Sufi Night in Ivory and Gold
The Sufi night brought a sense of calm and soul to the wedding weekend. Styled in off white, cream, and gold, the decor featured hundreds of candles and soft gold accents that created a glowing, intimate ambience.
A live performance by Kabul Bukhari filled the space with music that felt both emotional and immersive. The bride wore Divani Couture for the evening, and the night concluded with fireworks, creating a quietly cinematic ending.
A Pichwai Inspired Wedding Ceremony
The wedding day itself was a visual masterpiece. The decor drew inspiration from Pichwai art, Thanjavur paintings, antiques, and symbolic South Indian sun and moon motifs. Every detail was layered with meaning and artistry, making the ceremony feel timeless and heirloom inspired.
The bride entered gracefully, followed by a flower shower during the varmala. She wore a gold Angadi silk saree with a blouse and veil by Angalkruthi, a look she had dreamt of for years, shaped by growing up in Bangalore and her connection to South Indian traditions.
When the Bride Styles the Groom
One of the most personal elements of this wedding was that the bride styled the groom for every event. His wedding sherwani was by Dolly J, while all other outfits were designed by the bride and her aunt and stitched at Vintage Stitch, a newly opened men’s boutique in Pune. The cocktail night outfit was stitched and styled at Tailorman.
This level of involvement added a unique, editorial quality to the wedding fashion narrative.
What made this wedding truly special was not just how it looked, but how it felt. It honoured tradition without feeling heavy, embraced glamour without losing warmth, and stayed deeply personal throughout.
This heritage inspired Indian wedding stands as a beautiful example of how modern couples are blending culture, art, fashion, and storytelling to create celebrations that are timeless, meaningful, and unforgettable.
